Established on this site AD 1105. Originally a "Grogg Shope" The Black Lion Hotel is probably the oldest Coaching Inn in Wales.

The Black Lion Hotel is located in the centre of the historic market town of Cardigan. With stunning scenery, and located just five minutes from the beautiful Welsh coast line it is the ideal bed and breakfast stop for walkers, fishermen, cyclists, nature and history lovers. Established in AD 1105 and originally a "Grogg Shope" the Black Lion is probably the oldest Coaching Inn in Wales.

The restaurant offers traditional, high quality, home cooked meals with locally sourced produce served in the restaurant or bar area. Every Sunday we serve a traditional Sunday lunch with a variety of locally sourced meat and vegetables. The variety of rooms offers accommodation for all occasions, from single and twins to large family and double rooms. The function room is available for any occasion; wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthday parties or simply a place to meet, we have the room for you.
